Time to travel again!!

Having now fully recovered from the long 6-wk trip to the USA in the summer, guess what?!? Yes, I’m preparing to climb back on a plane and a bike again!! This time the journey is a great deal closer to home (thankfully), as the trip is to northern Portugal in Europe. So, just over a 2-hr flight and no jet lag, with a direct flight from my local airport to Porto, so no transfers either!!

Once again this is for the Fuller Center to Housing (https://fullercenter.org/portugal/) but not only will I be cycling but for one week I will be part of a team of cyclists helping to build new homes. As I learnt in Alabama in 2019, we are not just building homes but also building hope by providing new homes for local people.

The building work and bike rides will be centred around Braga which is a short drive north east from Porto and I will be joined by many friends from the USA. It will be so good to catch up with all of them that I either saw in the summer or on previous rides.

This not a fundraising trip but an act of service for me, again with the gracious support of my wife, Elaine, who will take care of the dogs for just over 2 weeks on her own. I’m aiming to produce 2-3 blogs in my time there to try to raise the profile of the charity fundraising I now do and will aim to do again in 2026.
