Taking some Falls but rising up for Scotland š“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æ

Okay! The last time you heard from me I was in Erie, Pennsylvania but since then a great deal has taken place! Some of it terrific, other bits quite taxing!
It was my last day on the Northen Tier ride into Niagara that I received the news that the tour in Scotland I had arranged for 21 American friends, just over two weeks away, had been cancelled.š Thanks to the support and encouragement from LeeAnn and Scott White, who were due to come to Scotland, we were able to rescue things and put the bones of an alternative holiday together.
Firstly, letās deal with the terrific parts. Not only did I see the fifth Great Lake - Lake Ontario, I traveled to another country - Canada šØš¦. Leeann and I went to both together and enjoyed the warm sunny weather before I caught my first of three planes to arrive back in England.
The Niagara Falls were awesome inspiring and on such a scale that my brain struggled to comprehend just how much water must travel over the fall each day, over a month, over a year! This was nature shouting out, āIām bigger and better than you think!ā
It may seem like a come down to then fly home, but, honestly, I was glad it was time to travel home to my wife and bouncy dog, Robson. Besides I would need that time to rescue the Scotland trip and come up with an alternative arrangement from sailing and biking around the Inner Hebrides - a tough ask!
Within a relatively short period I had come up with a plan and circulated the proposal around my American friends. All but two agreed to stick to their flights and two further couples made their own arrangements for the original 1 week tour but still make use of the hotel bookings in Glasgow, either end of the tour.
I was able to reserve an Airbnb house on the northern side of Glasgow and then use this as a platform for activities, including 3 cycling events, 3 day trips and one final coach tour to cap things off. You will find out about some of these adventures on later blogsā¦ā¦ but here is a taster!
Finally, it seems appropriate to sign off from the Northern Tier ride with a fantastic video prepared by the two media interns who accompanied the ride which covers the whole ride and not just the parts that I joined in on. Congratulations to Alex and Tyler for a job well done but Iām sure I have heard that music before!?!
