As promised, here is the low down on my trip to London to visit the Ark in North London:

Noah's Ark Children's Hospice provides holistic care to families and their babies, children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, with the aim of making the most of every day.

The team provide clinical, emotional and practical support that is carefully adapted for every child and is offered in their home or in a new state-of-the art hospice facility (The Ark) set in a 7.5 acre nature reserve.

The Ark is truly inspiring with wonderful facilities to offer the best possible care and support to children and their families, with different therapy rooms, tailored accommodation and facilities for families to stay close to their children. They work with numerous hospitals across north London, including Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

Providing this free care and support to families and maintaining these wonderful facilities does not come cheap and whilst some government funding is available, the charity is reliant on charitable income to top this up. I really want to make a contribution to ensure more families benefit from the work of this charity.

One of the most striking images of my visit was the visit to the ‘butterfly garden’ where parents have installed butterflies in memory of their children. I was close to tears seeing this and I share it now with you.

With just over a week to go before I fly across the Atlantic, please sponsor me on this bike ride to help provide some financial support to this wonderful charity and the excellent work they do.
