Heading Home to England

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

I have finally made it back to Amsterdam Airport and just waiting a few hours until my flight home to Bristol. It somehow seems appropriate that I arrive back in England on Independence Day, however, I am also aware that Elaine losses her independence once I return home!!

Since finishing the ride in Maine and returning to Atlanta the following photos may infer that my entire time has been taken drinking and eating, as demonstrated below but this is not entirely true:

However, I attended a tennis session with Mark’s friends, did a 39 mile ride on my own as Mark was not feeling well - (getting lost and adding 5 miles to me ride in the heat of the midday sun - phew!), attended an open air concert to see and hear the Grizzly Goats, (a real taste of Americana Music), a second game of Atlanta Braves baseball and a trip into downtown Atlanta and the Mercedes Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta United.

Really looking forward to seeing Elaine, who once again has graciously allowed me to travel to the USA, and being reunited with Hank 🐕, who I’ll be walking tomorrow 😁

Don’t hold your breath though as I’m back on my American travels in just a few weeks to raise money for a replacement support vehicle for the Fuller Center for Housing. This time we will be cycling the trails, based out of a church in Xenia, Ohio. I hope to catch up with yet more of friends that I may not have seen since 2019.

Watch this space for yet more adventures!
