Well, I’m well behind on the blogs, so apologies!!

We start with Saturday 20th when we had to return all the hired bikes to Firstbike in Braga. I had to ride Jonathan’s bike as he was riding Cindy’s e-bike as she was recovering from a fall and was not able to ride. To add to this situation, it was raining and so I was glad not to be riding my bike on slippery cobbles.

It was not a long ride so shortly after me everyone had arrived and the bikes were inspected as we returned them. This gave us the chance to enjoy some eye candy for cyclists and look at all the bikes available in the shop. There was much drooling and sighs of satisfaction as we looked at some bikes which would have costed us a fortune, such as……

We had to wait some time for the van to turn up but eventually we were all safely delivered back to Domus House from where most of the team headed off to Guimaraes Castle, except Mark Murphy and me.

I decided to do some laundry. I know, so exciting and fulfilling while on holiday in Portugal!! My thinking was to wash all my cycling kits and put them back in case and prepare for the coming week of building. This turned out to be a good thing to do as even though I still had a bike, it was never to be used until it was returned to the bike box for transportation back to England.

On the Sunday, the team took a trip into Braga and did some site seeing which was later reinforced by a guided walking tour the following Tuesday. Here are some of the wonderful sites we saw.

Was this the original MacDonalds outlet??!

So ended our first week in Portugal and the following day we would start our week of building
